BATCH 41

(2016 - 2020)

These projects represents a particular significance to mark the end of their studies on Design for Industry. Covid-19 has brought dramatic changes to so many aspects of our lives and, for our students, it has meant the disappointment of having to complete their final projects under lockdown conditions. Under these challenging circumstances, our students have acted with maturity and resilience, adapting and continuing with their projects to produce compelling design concepts.

The work here is testament to their creativity and the range of skills they can draw upon to still deliver, whatever the constraints, evidence that this tradition remains strong within the programme. The projects are imaginative and original yet they are grounded in real-world issues and a sensitivity to how design both reflects and shapes our daily lives.

As further evidence, this year saw a remarkable 10 short-listings in the prestigious RSA Student Design Awards, with wins for Adi Walia and Jess Williams. These projects, like so many others presented here, show a remarkable commitment - a quality which has seen the students through a difficult period and one that will set them up for successful careers ahead.
