Vela Atmospheric Lighting
A family of lights allowing you to build and
manipulate the atmosphere within a room.
Vela is a family of lights, that explore how light can drastically change the atmosphere of a room. Vela consist of three different lamps all with different features. All three lights are controlled by the table lamps touch pad, this allows for manipulation of brightness and light temperature. They are connected by a XBEE chip, this allows the lamps to communicate and interact with each other wirelessly.
Different to the harsh static light we are used to this manipulation of light allows the atmosphere in the room to be explored and changed depending on someone’s mood or in the task in hand. This allows a more calming and subtle light been casted into the room making users more aware of the importance of good lighting.
