Lio

Lio provides homeowners with the ability to filter and reuse their waste cooking oil up to eight times. This solution supports sustainable kitchen practices and reduces the number of sewage system blockages caused by oil being poured down the sink after a single use.

Cheesecloth is most effective at finely straining liquids. Lio takes this material to structure the basis of the filtration process with three layers of mesh cheesecloth that last up to one thousand uses each before needing to be replaced. To ensure that the waste cooking oil is sustainably disposed of correctly after eight uses, the refined oil can be recycled as a natural pesticide to protect household plants and fulfil the cyclic nature of the system.
